Barolo Chinato is an aromatized wine born in Piedmont in the 19th century, produced with Barolo to which are added, in addition to the bark of cinchona calissaja (china calissaja) that gives the wine its name, other extracts, herbs, sugar and ethyl alcohol. Barolo Chinato is used as a digestive and meditation wine.
