Quarto di Brenta means the fourth part of a Brenta.
Brenta is a unit of measurement of volume used in the past in various regions of Italy. In Piedmont it was equivalent to about 50 liters and often corresponded to a glass demijohn (damigiana). The Quarto di Brenta used by some Piedmontese wine producers varies from about 12 to 13 liters and is no longer used today.
In the case of Monfortino Riserva Quarto di Brenta 1955 the content is 13.05 liters.
